On November 22, a delegation from Seoul National U

On November 22, a delegation from Seoul National University (SNU), including Prof. Min Gyo Koo, former Vice-President for International Affairs at SNU, visited Keio University. They were welcomed on the Keio side by Vice-President Yukihiro Ikeda and Prof. Hisayo Ogushi, Dean of the International Center.

Discussions centered around SNU and Keio’s respective approaches to internationalization in relation to education, research, administration, and global outreach, as well as human resources management and governance.

On November 6, 2024, a symposium hosted by the Kei

On November 6, 2024, a symposium hosted by the Keio CEMS MIM (Master’s in International Management) Programme, titled “New Leadership in the Age of Internationalization,” was held at the East Research Building G-Lab. The symposium was filled with keynote speeches, panels, and discussions featuring leaders from higher education and industry.

CEMS is a global alliance of the world’s top universities and business schools, as well as corporate institutions, and NGOs, of which Keio University is the only member institution from Japan. The CEMS MIM (Master’s in International Management) is a double degree program that allows students to earn a master’s degree from both CEMS and its member institutions.

On October 31, a delegation from the British Libra

On October 31, a delegation from the British Library, including Chair Professor Dame Carol Black, and Chief Executive Sir Roly Keating, paid a courtesy visit to Keio University.

They were welcomed by President Kohei Itoh, Vice-President Motohiro Tsuchiya, Prof. Keiko Okawa of the Graduate School of Media Design, as well as three professors from Faculty of Letters, Prof. Satoko Tokunaga, Prof. Mari Agata, and Prof. Kiyonori Nagasaki.

After their discussion, the visitors were given a tour of the Mita Media Center, Keio Museum Commons (KeMCo), and the Fukuzawa Yukichi Memorial Keio History Museum, where Associate Professor Takeyuki Tokura gave them a special view of some materials from the archives.

Late last month, Keio President Kohei Itoh and Vice-President Motohiro Tsuchiya attended the 20th Korea-Japan Millennium Forum at Korea University, Seoul, South Korea.

The Korea-Japan Millennium Forum was launched in 2002 as an opportunity for the presidents and other members of four of the leading private universities from Japan and Korea—Keio University, Waseda University, Korea University, and Yonsei University—to strengthen their mutual relationships and meet up on a yearly basis. The venue rotates between the schools each time it is held.

This year’s Forum was held under the theme of "The Roles of Universities in Improving the Resilience of Local and Global Communities toward a Sustainable Planet," and besides various the discussions among the presidents and vice-presidents, also included researcher sessions and student sessions featuring representatives from each of the universities.
