Congratulations to 3rd-year Keio student Rio Haseg

Congratulations to 3rd-year Keio student Rio Hasegawa for winning her weight class at the 25th Sumo World Championships in Poland, held on September 8-9.

Hasegawa, the first female member of the prestigious Keio Sumo Club, handily won all her matches in the female middle-weight division (65-73 kg) enroute to becoming world champion.

The Keio University Graduate School of Media Desig

The Keio University Graduate School of Media Design will host KMD Forum 2024 “Voyage” on the weekend of October 12-13.

KMD Forum will present the results of Real Projects, the core of KMD's research activities, to the public through talk sessions and interactive demonstrations. An information session for prospective students will also be held.

On Friday, September 20, H.E. Dr. Ghazi Faisal Bin

On Friday, September 20, H.E. Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Japan, paid a courtesy visit to President Kohei Itoh at Keio’s Mita Campus.

During their meeting, they exchanged opinions on the future of education in both countries, and discussed ways to increase collaboration between Keio and academic institutions in Saudi Arabia.

The "Arabian Nights Conference, Tokyo" was held at Keio University's Mita Campus earlier this month, hosted by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), in collaboration with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Tokyo and Keio University.

The second in the series titled "A Cultural Odyssey across Continents and Centuries: From Abu Dhabi to Madrid, via Tokyo to London," the conference was attended by about 80 participants, including overseas guests, faculty and staff members, and students.

Eight researchers, including two from Keio University, delivered lectures on a wide range of content related to the Arabian Nights, under the theme, "The Arabian Nights (One Thousand and One Nights) and its Influence on Japanese Culture." The event also featured a traditional Arabic music performance by one of Japan's leading Arabic musicians.
