🧑‍💻 Keio and Notion Sign MoU on AI Infrastructure

On February 27, Notion Global Head of Sales Pravesh Mistry and Asia Pacific General Manager of Notion Labs Japan Katsukiyo Nishi visited Mita Campus to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Keio University.

The MoU, which was also signed by Keio University President Kohei Itoh, will revolutionize education, research, and university administration by integrating knowledge and operations in the drive towards realization of Keio’s “Top Global AI-Native University” vision.

Congratulations to Satoshi Furuno (Faculty of Law alumnus) for finishing 4th in the men’s freestyle ski cross event at Milano Cortina 2026.

While he narrowly missed out on a medal, he set a new record for Japanese athletes with his fourth-place finish in the finals.

We are tremendously proud of Furuno, and will continue to cheer our athletes on at Keio University.

🍡 “Yoisho!” Making Mochi at Yagami Campus

The Faculty of Science and Technology hosted a “mochitsuki” event at Yagami Campus earlier this year. The event, a festive tradition in Japan, invited students, faculty, and staff to participate in the mochi-making process.

Attendees chanted “yoisho” in unison as they took turns pounding steam rice with a mallet, forming delicious mochi cakes that were eaten fresh that day.

🇫🇷 French Ambassador to Japan Visits Keio

On March 3, Keio University President Kohei Itoh welcomed H.E. Béatrice Le Fraper du Hellen, Ambassador of France to Japan, and Prof. Xavier Bressaud, Counselor for Science and Technology, to the Mita Campus.

During the visit, they exchanged views on further deepening research and educational collaboration between the two nations. As the current Chair of the U7+ Alliance, President Itoh also focused the conversation on the upcoming U7+ Presidential Summit scheduled for this April in Paris.
