🧑‍💻 Keio and OpenAI Sign MoU on AI Integration

On December 9, OpenAI Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon and Keio President Kohei Itoh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on AI integration to promote cooperation in areas including education, talent development, research, and ethics and governance.

The move is a step toward the realization of an "AI-Native University," which as President Itoh explained, entails enabling students more freedom to work with AI across all academic fields, establishing advanced research facilities and digital environments, and making contributions toward solving social issues via interdisciplinary research.

In his statement, CSO Kwon noted Keio University's more than 150-year history of spearheading Japan's modernization and intellectual leadership, emphasizing that the MoU is not a formal agreement, but a statement of shared principles to deliver advanced AI to education, research, and society in a responsible manner.

🎁✨ Drone Light Show & Projection Mapping at SFC

Earlier this month, the Keiji Takeda Lab held "SFC TWIN-LIGHTS 2025 SKY × LIGHT", a Christmas-themed show blending drone lights, projection mapping, and laser mapping.

The project aimed to liven up Shonan Fujisawa Campus, which can feel dark and lifeless on winter nights. Despite the cold, over 100 spectators gathered at Shonan Fujisawa Campus to enjoy the show.

This was the lab’s first project blending drone light shows and projection mapping, two areas they have researched independently in the past. They hope to continue their work, producing even safer and more entertaining shows.

Takahashi graduated from Keio University’s Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Law in 1998. After a record-breaking run at the Keio Baseball Club, he went on to play and coach professional baseball, and continues to enjoy an active career in commentating.
