The bright and open Juku High School library boasts a substantial collection of 130,000 volumes for a high school, ranging from introductory books to specialized texts.
On the other hand, since the students who use the library tend to be the same group, we considered whether we could promote the library through the students themselves. In the fall of 2024, we held a "Book Selection Tour" where students chose books at a bookstore.
In addition to selecting books, we had the students create "POP" (promotional blurbs) for their chosen books and display them in the library. The resulting POPs and display methods were full of individuality, creating a fun and diverse exhibition. We even saw students who didn't participate helping their friends with the display work. We hope that by continuing this initiative, more Juku High School students will feel a sense of familiarity with books and the library.
