Yochisha — Lively Laughter —

Lunchtime scene

In the morning, the area is enveloped in silence except for the sounds coming from the kitchen in the back, but at lunchtime, it is filled with the lively laughter of students and faculty alike. Sunlight filters through the trees into the hall, creating a comfortable, open space where sharing a meal and conversation is an important part of life at Yochisha. Due to capacity limits, 1st/2nd graders and 5th/6th graders take turns using the hall, while 3rd/4th graders eat lunch in their homeroom classrooms. Because of this, it is said that some 3rd and 4th graders eagerly look forward to the days they can have lunch in Keyaki Hall.

Balanced and varied menus are provided daily, filling both stomachs and hearts. The hall also functions as a place for dietary education; for example, 6th graders support 1st graders with their lunch in April, and the menu includes monthly local specialties from across Japan as well as request menus from 6th graders nearing graduation.
