Lunch scene

At Keio Academy of New York, boarding students, day students, and faculty all have lunch together in the dining hall. Students are divided into three time slots based on their grade level and take turns enjoying a buffet-style lunch.

The menu offers a nutritionally balanced variety of options. In addition to Japanese cuisine, which is a staple given the large number of Japanese students, American favorites like pizza and hamburgers are also served. Furthermore, authentic Latin dishes prepared by chefs and kitchen staff from South America are very popular. On special occasions such as holidays, themed menus are served, providing students with a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and customs.

Students chatting with friends, students surrounding a teacher with a barrage of questions (a common sight especially before exams), students quietly eating while preparing for their next class, and students enjoying the weather at outdoor tables — everyone spends their 45-minute lunch break in their own style.
